The UV irradiation of 1-(p-nitrophenyl)-3,7-dimethylindazoles leads to the formation of the corresponding 7-formyl derivatives together with 2-methyl-9-nitro-6 H-[1,5]benzoxazepo[3.5-h, i]indazoles. © 1971.
