Sumario: | In this work a general expression is deduced for the mutual intensity function for amplitude division interferometers illuminated with partially coherent sources, where the optical path difference in the branches of the interferometer is taken into consideration. This expression is applied to the particular case of Gaussian sources, and an equation for the tolerances for misadjustment of the interferometer is obtained. The parallel between an amplitude division interferometer and an equivalent optical system, analysed in a previous work, is extended to this example. © 1991 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. |
